How And Where To Rent A BIRD Scooter

What is Bird?

As one of the first providers of electric scooters, Bird can now be found in more than 100 cities.

At any time, on almost every street corner a means of transport at your disposal. Open your mobile app, unlock a scooter and drive away. It sounds futuristic, but Bird has now made this possible in more than 100 cities worldwide.

Bird’s initiative should contribute to “shared mobility”’. With this, the company wants to reduce CO2 emissions in cities and facilitate last-mile transport.

How do you use a Bird scooter?

To use Bird, download the free app for Android or Apple. Link a payment method in the app and go through the following steps:

1. Find a Bird vehicle near you

Check in the app where the nearest e-step is located. In the app, you can also see what the battery percentage of the scooter is.

2. Add multiple drivers

Tap ‘Group ride’ if you want to unlock multiple vehicles with one app.

3. Unlock with the app

Scan the QR code on the scooter’s handlebars to unlock the vehicle and start your ride.

4. Push off and drive off

Push off with one foot and accelerate with the right thumb.

5. Park the scooter.

Done with the ride? Check in the app whether there are designated parking zones and park the vehicle neatly.

6. End the ride

Press “lock e-scooter” in the app to end your ride. You will now see an overview of the route taken and costs incurred.

What do you pay per ride?

For each ride, you pay a starting rate and a rate per minute. To unlock a scooter you pay an average of €1 and then €0.15 per minute. For a 15-minute ride, you pay €3.25.

Tip: take advantage of free rides

Through the Bird app, you have the option to share your personal ‘referral code‘ with someone. This personal code can be found in the app after downloading.

Do you want to buy an electric scooter from Bird?

With a price tag of $899, this is above the average price of an e-scooter, such as the Xiaomi Pro 2. But to be honest, you get a great electric scooter for that price.
